Default Concept PvP Mode: Haste Race

So this is a two team competitive mode. But instead of fighting each other, they fight against monsters. What's the goal? Reach the end and beat the boss first.

Here's how it'll be set up:
Pre-game:
The group is an organized 8 team party, meaning that they choose their teams. Once the first player joins, the rest of both teams have one minute to load or they're going to have to be ditched. Once the timer reaches 0, waiting is a bad suggestion as the gate opens.
Room 1:
There'll be 2 groups of level 20 Zaishen enemies. Each group will have 8 people with the following formation:
2 monks
2 elementalists
1 mesmer
2 warriors
1 ranger

Once that's been beat, the door to the next room is opened, recuperating is not an option! Unless if you really feel like losing.

Room 2:
There'll be 8 level 24 Grasps of Insanities with 2 level 22 Sycthe of Chaoses.

Room 3:
A warrior mini boss, Level 28.
Hundred Blades
Power Attack
Sever Artery
Gash
Final Thrust
Healing Signet
"Watch Yourself!"


Room 4:
6 groups of Corsairs.

Room 5:
Once the group reaches the center of the room 5 groups of Am Fah drop down. Then once 10 Am Fah are killed another group of 4 Am Fah drop.

Room 6:
2 rotting dragons
4 Grasps of Insanity
4 Hydras (specifically the ones from the Crystal Desert)

Room 7:
1 Mursaat monk boss, level 24.
3 Mursaat Elementalists
1 Mursaat Mesmer
2 Jade Bows
2 Jade Armors

Room 8:
Big Boss, make it a Zaishen Champion with two boss minions.
Zaishen Champion:
Elementalist
Skills:
Mind Burn
Fireball
Immolate
Inferno
Meteor
Fire Attunement
Aura of Restoration
Resurrection Signet

Zaishen Minion 1 level 25:
Monk
Skills:
Word of Healing
Dwanya's Kiss
Heal Area
Remove Hex
Orison of Healing
Healing Touch
Resurrection Signet

Zaishen Minion 2 level 25:
Warrior
Skills:
Devastating Hammer
Heavy Blow
Crude Swing
"Fear Me!"
Power Attack
Healing Signet
Resurrection Signet

Yes, the minions can resurrect the big guy.

The first ones to defeat all three win and the other team dies.
The reward? A zaishen chest that needs no key (can only be opened once regardless if you have a key). So while someone rejoices over a gold drop, you could get a flask of firewater.

OR!!!!
Since Chest farming can be quite apparent... maybe the winning team should just get 3,000 balthazar faction.

It sounds extremely fun, but besides conception, this idea will never get taken up. GW is far too old for a huge update to come out like this on its own, but you never know, there could be something similar in GW2.

It's still PvP as players do indirectly go against each other.

i smell chest farming in pvp

i smell faction farming which leads to zaishen chest farming

5k balth fact = 1 zkey

2 runs = 6k balth fact + fact for kills to get to reward ~ proabably another 2
3keys per 2runs

UH OH!!!
Maybe the chest should be crappy!
Or maybe the winning team gets a huge Balthazar faction boost. I'll update that now.

I'll go just for faction, but I think it would be more interesing if it where a mixed 'king of the hill' arena.

- The ones reaching first the middle get advantage (morale and time to recharge), but the other parties have to get to them and fight them.
- Enemy parties should be random, just with increased elvels and numbers: First enemyes, level 8 level 10, next 6 level 15, next 8 level 15, next 6 level 20, next, 6 level 20, and so on. But random, corsairs first, corsairs last... who knows.

So it would be a grat way to have to think about builds that would work both against many inds of NPCs and monsters.


Those that get to the end get one point for a PvP title, and wait for enmies to come to them, NPCs while PvP players do not reach them. After a PvP battle, they get another point, and after 5 PvP battles, they get to open one chest.

Hm... sound more like that...

That sounds just like the challenge missions in Cantha and Elona. Except instead of having a ladder that you compete in, you do it directly. Either way, it'll get boring after 2 days when people figure out how to best take the monsters on, and then it's just like PvE. Sorta like...two groups racing to see who can finish UW faster or something.

In the end, if they face each other, it would be cool. Perhaps the teams start off with a 2-5 minute no-attack limit, and must kill certain bosses in the area to obtain small Blessings. And then they have to fight each other using the blessings that they earned.

Sounds like old Tombs merged with challenge missions. It's all stuff they've done before, so it shouldn't be anything new for them. However, anet probably won't bother to do it.

Maybe if rooms would be randomly switched and have groups that could be subbed in. This way people wouldnt be able to farm it as easy and know the exact same build used by the monsters. Though this would take a lot more time and be harder to put in.
